A late arrival into Bali’s Denpasar Airport has its bonuses. With less traffic on the road, I was lapping up the luxury of my bed at Montigo Resorts Seminyak in no time. I spent two nights of my trip here and if you’re a first time visitor (or a regular) the location is simply perfect.
The hotel kindly collected me from the airport and upon check in I was welcomed with a cool face towel and green juice. Once I got to my room I was mesmerised by the sight of the bed. Covered in plush linen and marshmallow like pillows I literally fell into a deep sleep in my post flight daze. It was like sleeping on a cloud and I woke refreshed and ready for my holiday.
Montigo Resorts Seminyak offers a unique accommodation concept, considering how central they are. No pokey shoebox rooms here! My suite included a small sitting area with the TV unit positioned in the middle of the room. This enabled the TV to be swivelled so guests can either watch on their sofa, or in bed.
Large floor to ceiling doors opened up to a spacious terrace and courtyard area. I always appreciate the ability to get some fresh air from my room. Whether it be a balcony or a terrace, it’s an attractive feature that gives guests more opportunity to relax.
The spacious bathroom came complete with twin sinks, a free standing bathtub and walk in shower. Toiletry amenities were provided and replaced daily.
Although right in the heart of Seminyak the property offers a green retreat environment with lots of natural shade, plants and trees. Montigo Resorts Seminyak boasts three swimming pools each offering a different experience. Their street front pool TIIGO is perfect for lap swimming or sipping on a cocktail while you relax in the Bali sunshine. The generously sized family pool is located in the middle of the property with plenty of space for the kids to splash about. My favourite pool was the garden pool. Nestled towards the back of the hotel, it’s quiet, shady and what Bali holidays are all about.
The resort has the largest kids club in Seminyak, making it a great spot for families to have an enjoyable holiday. A moderately sized gym looks out over the family pool and includes multiple pieces of cardio equipment and some free weights. If you are wanting to keep up your health and fitness routine while on holiday you can compliment your gym routine with a stroll along nearby Seminyak Beach.
Not only does Montigo Resorts Seminyak have a plentiful buffet breakfast offering, guests can also select from the a la carte menu to compliment their plate. Being able to order avocado smash was the winner for me.
During my stay I also enjoyed an exquisite five course meal at TIIGO Restaurant. The seafood was delicious and I loved the Japanese flavours mixed in with the local Indonesian favourites. TIIGO has a large open BBQ kitchen area where you can see the meat being smoked and cooked. I really liked the vibe of the restaurant and bar area, it’s definitely not your standard hotel restaurant scene.
Prior to my arrival in Bali I had been daydreaming about the massage experiences. Montigo Spa did not disappoint. I was warmly welcomed into the large reception area and given a choice of oils for my massage plus a lemongrass tea to aid my decision. My 90 minute relaxation massage was the ideal way to unwind on my first day at the resort.
Any regular visitor to Bali will tell you that staying in Seminyak is a winning decision. Top restaurants, beach front bars and endless cups of Melbourne worthy coffee are at your disposal. Montigo Resorts Seminyak is located in the heart of the action. The popular beach club Potato Head is located right next door, the beach a short walk away and Cafe Organic for your caffeine hit is just across the road.
I highly recommend Montigo Resorts Seminyak to any holiday maker who wants to be in the action, but also wants their privacy and relaxation time. Having the three pools plus the beautiful garden setting is a big drawcard. The quality of their food along with their menu choices went above and beyond what I expected. I had a wonderful stay here and hope to visit again in the near future.
